Ok folks,
So I got back to Michigan two long weeks ago. Somehow in my head I thought I would immediately be able to map out what I was doing and what I wanted to do and how to make that happen.
The thing is, I often take awhile to transition to new places. Home is full of familiar routines that I haven't engaged in recently, old projects that need finishing, obligations, distractions. I could write a list... jk, I just did.
So I'm two weeks in and realizing that I've been stressed, that my environment has been chaotic and I haven't given myself anytime to adjust. Today I went to the beach and took some time. Next weekend I'm traveling so I'm going to keep being patient with myself.
The one thing I was impatient about was money. I did some numbers in my head and to get to 5000 by the end of the year I think I have to keep my weekly expenses under 100 dollars every week. That doesn't count rent, utilities, phone, or insurance, but it does need to cover gas, medical copays, groceries, and miscellaneous expenses. I wasn't entirely sure that would be possible but I tracked everything this week and ended up with 99.24.
I very nearly went over because I thought I had 5 dollars left tonight and was going to get an icecream sundae. I guess I should be careful with math I do in my head, one of these days I'll make a formal plan for getting to 5000 dollars but for now I'll keep trying to keep my spending to 100 weekly.
